G & M Ward & Sons Limited G & M Ward & Sons Limited specialises in the servicing and maintenance of the inland waterways infrastructure and equipment, the servicing and maintenance of customers plant and machinery, the assembly distribution and sale of hydraulic hoses, fittings and components, the manufacture, reconditioning, repair and sale of hydraulic cylinders, the design and installation of hydraulic systems and the fabrication and welding of metalwork from our workshop premises in Baxenden and Haslingden and on location at our clients sites.

As a company, we recognise that in order to flourish in an increasingly competitive market we must continue to meet and even exceed the expectations of our customers. This quality policy statement reflects and is appropriate to the purpose and context of our organisation and supports our strategic direction providing a framework within which we establish annual quality objectives.

Our objectives are underpinned by our desire to continually improve our products, processes and techniques and to achieve increased productivity whilst controlling costs. All of this is to be achieved whilst meeting the expectations of our employees, customers, the local and wider community and other relevant interested parties.

To help achieve our aims G & M Ward & Sons Limited has implemented and maintains an externally certified Quality Management System (QMS) in line with the requirements of the International Quality Standard BS EN ISO 9001:2015.

We are committed to the continual improvement of our quality management system and to satisfying all of its applicable requirements.

We are fully committed to carrying out our operations in accordance with the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 subsequent Regulations and to meeting all relevant legal and other requirements.

Our Directors take ultimate responsibility for occupational health and safety with the support of our Management Team and all of our Personnel.

Our Objectives are to help achieve our aims G & M Ward & Sons Limited has implemented, maintains and continually improves an Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OH&SMS) in line with the requirements of the International Occupational Health and Safety Standards BS OHSAS 18001:2007 and BS EN ISO 45001:2018.

We are committed to providing sufficient resources to maintain safe and healthy working conditions for the prevention of work related injuries and ill-health in line with the purpose, size and context of our organisation and the specific nature of our occupational health and safety related risks and opportunities. Our policy extends to third parties and people who are not employed by us, but might be affected by our activities.

Through our management system we aim eliminate hazards and reduce occupational health and safety risks and are committed to consultation and participation with workers and where they exist workers representatives.

This environmental statement reflects and is appropriate to the purpose and context of our organisation including the nature scale and environmental impacts of our activities, products and services and supports our strategic direction providing a framework within which we establish annual environmental objectives.

Our Directors take ultimate responsibility for our environmental controls with the support of our Management Team and all of our Personnel. Information regarding relevant environment issues is communicated to interested parties through training, toolbox talks and through access to applicable documentation.

Our Objectives are to help achieve our aims G & M Ward & Sons Limited has implemented, maintains and continually improves an externally certified Environmental Management System (EMS) in line with the requirements of the International Environmental Management Systems Standard ISO 14001:2015 and with the purpose of enhancing our environmental performance.

Our Directors take ultimate responsibility for our environmental Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking controls with the support of our Management Team and all of our Personnel.

Our Commitment at G & M Ward & Sons Limited does not operate on a global scale and employs locally based people in line with prevailing UK legislation. We do however understand that all organisations, however local or small must remain alert at all times to potential breaches of anti-slavery and human trafficking regulations and for that purpose G & M Ward & Sons Limited shall,

✔ Take all reasonable steps to ensure that instances of modern day slavery and human trafficking that come to our attention are reported immediately to the regulatory authorities.

✔ Be alert to the potential that suppliers have of providing services and products from high risk global regions.

✔ Exercise appropriate due diligence in the selection of suppliers and materials.
